The Journey
2016
Hi it’s Putri here! This journey started because of my struggles in the fashion industry and it impacted my mental health. One of the ways to relieve stress were designing and baking, my love and passion for those grew into Mookie, i wanted to create a character that is fun and relatable to others feeling the same way and how he can lift our moods!. How I realized mental health is important and how does one enjoy and be grateful for the small things
2018
After two years, i decided to become a full time. I always wanted to have a small neighborhood bakery that can be a small retreat for people to just wind down. But at this moment i realized, we could be so much more. This year i decided to expand Mookie to the IP industry while balance it with the online bakery, to give more meaning and reach to many hearts. it’s not only about the bakery, but it’s the character that conveys a message.
2020
Pandemic happened, we have to close our 3 pop up stores. Creating an offline store doesn’t seem to make sense at that time, we do everything to survive while still maintaining our value, and we survived. The past two years were challenging. i’ve faced with dozens of rejections, told it was over, they have not yet see the vision. But i always believe in the vision and the purpose with the right momentum.
2022
We have made the strategic decision to expand Mookie's intellectual property. Beginning with the dissemination of our core values through digital comics and short animations.
